Former governor of New York Mario Cuomo, who held the position for more than 10 years, died on Thursday.
He held the post for three terms from 1983 to 1994 and established himself as a liberal. In 1988 and 1992 he was considered one of the most real contenders for the US presidency from the Democratic Party, but both times refused such offers.

Anyone who proudly wears the moniker of "progressive" is pure filth. in my opinion. Mario Cuomo was little more than a man who stole from people who had earned their wealth to give to people who were too stupid or lazy to take care of themselves. For this, he is celebrated as some kind of left wing hero. In reality, he was simply a political charleton who deepened the dependency and despair if the people he claimed to help to further his own political power. I sincerely hope he is burning in heII where he belongs.
